SPECIFIC DUTIES

The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:

1) To work as directed on appropriate section and directed by Exec /Sous Chef.

2) To make sure all food is prepared to the correct standard and in conjunction with use charts.

3) To ensure good food quality and correct quantity. To make sure all food items are sent to the correct area on time.

4) Prepares all mise en place for the hot and cold station in accordance with the production sheets and recipes, complete set-up for dinner and specific items for Buffets.

5) Maintain food quality and service in accordance with standardized company recipes and procedures in all areas.

6) To have a well groomed appearance at all times and to have a pleasant smiling attitude towards all guests.

7) To maintain the highest possible level of personal hygiene.

8) Promotes and maintains effective communication between all the food production areas in the hotel.

9) Practices and strictly enforces the “Clean as you go” policy.

10) Maintains and supervises good housekeeping in all preparation areas and workstations.

11) Checks out all workstations at beginning and end of each shift.

12) Ensures adequate set-up for breakfast, lunch and dinner business.

13) Insists that all preparation and set-up is ready for service in advance of meals.

14) Properly use of production. Use records in respect of actual amounts and additional preparation needed.

15) Constantly spot-checks of food and service during meal periods. Insists that the food meets the requirements of portion, control and quality.

16) Assists the Restaurant Manager in conducting daily taste panels.

17) Assists in developing and cross training of all employees in breakfast, hot and cold preparation.

Chef– Full Time - 40-45hrs/week (5 days out of 7)
