Although each pub is an individual business in its own right, we retain the classic Vintage Inns hallmarks of roaring open fires in winter and fabulous gardens for summer. A major part of the Vintage appeal is the menu - traditional favourites, contemporary specials and an emphasis on freshly prepared food. Our menu offers a choice for all types of dining occasions. At the bar, you'll find a wide range of high quality wines from around the world and regional cask conditioned ales. THE DORMOUSE - YORK The Dormouse is built on the site of the old Clifton hospital, originally known as the North and East Riding Pauper Hospital when it opened in 1847. These days, we look after visitors and locals rather than patients and instead of a hospital, we offer friendly hospitality and delicious food and drink, creating the ideal setting in which to relax and unwind. The pub currently produces in excess if 1500 meals per week. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a passion and enthusiasm for the industry and have a desire to progress within a food led pub brand. Experience of managing high volume, working to brand standards and maintaining safety systems are essential. We are also looking for strong leadership skills with an ability to motivate, train and develop a team to aid internal succession. The ideal candidate will be able to operate a branded menu and lead an already established kitchen team of 8. Who are you? As Head Chef, you will be fully accountable for the safe and profitable operation of a busy kitchen. You will need to: * Have a proven track record of managing a fresh food, high volume kitchen, ideally in a branded environment * Be a hands-on, inspirational leader who enjoys the buzz of running shifts * Be passionate about cleanliness and standards * Enjoy spending time setting and reviewing goals for your team * Be willing to learn our IT systems and be involved in business controls * Be ambitious, ideally wanting to further your career in management in the future Why join Vintage Inns as a Head Chef?
